Self Mastery Privacy Policy

Effective date: 7 September 2026

Self Mastery is operated by DE-VI EDUCATION AND TRAINING (PTY) LTD in South Africa. This policy explains how the Self Mastery app collects, uses, stores and shares information.

1. Information we collect

We may collect account information such as an email address, user ID and optional profile details; content you choose to save while using journaling, guided-response and emotional check-in features; app activity, progress, analytics information and technical identifiers; and subscription status or Google Play purchase tokens used to verify Premium access. Self Mastery does not receive or store users' full payment-card or bank details.

2. How we use information

We use information to create and manage accounts; provide journaling, guidance, history, progress and Premium features; personalise the experience; verify and restore Google Play subscriptions; protect the app and prevent misuse; provide support; understand app performance; and comply with legal obligations.

3. Service providers and sharing

Information may be processed by Google Firebase for authentication, database hosting, cloud functions, hosting and analytics, and by Google Play for subscription billing and verification. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when legally required, to protect users or the service, or during a business transfer with appropriate safeguards.

4. Journal and wellbeing information

Your journal entries are private to your account. Only you can view them through the app. We do not read, review, monitor, share, sell or use your journal entries for advertising. Journal entries and emotional reflections are used only to provide the features you select. Self Mastery supports personal reflection and general wellbeing. It is not a medical device or healthcare service and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition.

5. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted network connections and access controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

6. Retention and deletion

We retain account and app information while an account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the service. After a verified deletion request, associated personal information will be deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period unless limited retention is required for security, dispute resolution or legal compliance. Subscription cancellation is managed separately through Google Play.

Users may request deletion from the Delete Account option inside the app or through the Self Mastery account-deletion page.

7. User choices and rights

Depending on location, users may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict use of personal information. Requests may be sent to support@selfmasteryapp.com. Users can manage or cancel subscriptions through Google Play.

8. Children's privacy

Self Mastery is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. International processing

Information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate. Where required, appropriate safeguards will be used.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app, our practices or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted here with a revised effective date.
